CARBON GRAPHICS ANNOUNCE THE IMMEDIATE AVAILABILITY OF GEO RUNWAY™ - A DAFIF IMPORTER & RUNWAY CONSTRUCTION PLUGIN FOR GEO

PARK CITY, Utah, October 27, 2004 -- Carbon Graphics LLC is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Geo Runway™ - a Nima DAFIF importer and runway construction plugin for Geo - the premiere 3D Modeling & Animation package targeted towards the needs of the Visual Simulation community.

Geo Runway seamlessly imports Nima DAFIF (Digital Aeronautical Flight Information File) data to rapidly create simulation-ready runway databases. The result is a runway database complete with lighting system, and all runway markings. Supported features include runway length, width & orientation, runway designators, threshold markings, touchdown zone lighting, centerline lighting system, high/medium/low intensity runway lights, runway end identifier lights, ALSF, SSALR, VASI, PAPI, centerline crossbars, omnidirectional approach lighting system and much more.

The package also allows runways to be created from scratch with all appropriate lighting and airport information extensions attached.

Nima DAFIF data is freely available for most runways in the world and is included with the full package.

Andy Bushnell, Carbon Graphics' President stated: "The addition of this add-in package to Geo will greatly accelerate runway and airport database construction time. A simulation-ready database of runways and their associated light systems can now be accomplished in minutes - as opposed to days or weeks when completed manually." Mr Bushnell further added: "Since the runway construction is completed within Geo, its existing creation & placement tools can be used to rapidly 'fill-out' the rest of the airport database."

A demo version of Geo Runway - limited to a small number of pre-set airports is available now.
