Geo STUDIO 3.1 RELEASED
We are thrilled to share the exciting news of the launch of Geo STUDIO Pro 3.1, marking a significant milestone in Carbon Graphics' journey within the realm of content creation for the visual simulation market. This latest version represents a culmination of meticulous development and user feedback, aimed at enhancing the overall user experience and expanding the capabilities of the software.
Geo STUDIO Pro 3.1 introduces a plethora of new features and enhancements that are set to revolutionize the way users engage with visual simulation projects. From advanced rendering techniques to streamlined workflows, this update is designed to empower creators to bring their visions to life with unprecedented realism and precision. With a focus on both functionality and user-friendliness, Geo STUDIO Pro 3.1 offers a seamless and intuitive interface that caters to both seasoned professionals and newcomers alike. This versatile tool is ideal for any training & simulation use-case and can build or edit static or dynamic 3D models and data-driven instrumentation before deploying in industry-standard file formats.
Some of the highlights include:
Extended Materials Integration: Comprehensive support of PBR materials, known as Extended Materials, in Geo STUDIO. The existing OpenGL lighting materials, referred to as Basic Materials, are fully maintained. Extended materials offer complete control over geometry appearance, allowing for the definition and visualization of materials with multiple ambient maps, diffuse maps, specular maps, emissive maps, alpha maps, normal maps, bump maps, and more directly in the application. A new Material Editor simplifies this process.
Silhouette Shader Option: A new option for a silhouette (outline) shader is now available for highlighting Groups or geometry primitives like Polygons, Meshes, etc. Users can also customize and choose their preferred selection style.
Shader Palette: Introducing a new Shader palette for rendering primitives using user-defined OpenGL GLSL shaders.
User Interface Enhancements: Various enhancements and improvements to the user interface throughout the application.
Plugin Updates: Updates and enhancements in over 80 plugins, including bug fixes and workflow improvements.
File Resource Management: Improved management of file resources, including support for long filenames (beneficial for CDB databases) and saving of relative (instead of absolute) paths for resource files.
Behavior State-Machine Editor Overhaul: A complete overhaul of Geo STUDIO's Behavior State-Machine Editor, now more robust, user-friendly, and visually appealing.
User Guide Revamp: A total revamp of the Geo STUDIO Pro User Guide.
New Plugins: The introduction of new plugins such as the visually enhanced BoxTranslate and TangentBinormals plugins.
OpenFlight(R) Import/Export Enhancements: Carbon Graphics' OpenFlight(R) importer and exporter plugins, now support up to version 16.3 (with further updates planned). Including complete support for OpenFlight(R) new enhanced material types. Notably, our OpenFlight(R) import/export support is recognized for its completeness and reliability compared to third-party solutions in the industry.
