New Map Builder Tool Coming in Geo STUDIO 4.4

A new Map Builder tool is coming in Geo STUDIO Pro version 4.4. Map Builder brings geographic source data into Geo's 3D modelling and animation workflow. This will enable users to generate road networks, terrain, coastlines, rivers, buildings, railways and tram lines, then refine the resulting geometry within Geo STUDIO.

Map Builder provides a practical starting point for creating environments based on real locations. Users import OpenStreetMap data obtained through the OverpassTurbo.eu web site to generate road geometry and junctions, along with building footprints and other supported features where source data is available.

NOTE: We originally called this tool Road Builder, but we' now feel that Map Builder is a more appropriate name -given our future plans. In addition, version 4.4 will also release with a new spline-based interactive road generation tool. It will take the Road Builder name.
